Routines
A downloadable game
a single-player mech game to play while coding. Inspired by not being able to focus, while coding.
You are a pilot of a K-Series Enhanced-Armored Battlemech.
While some mechs interface with their pilots through neural uplink, or clunky joysticks, K-series mechs are designed to be controlled solely through typing on a keyboard. K-series pilots write long routines that are then interpreted by the mech's decision core.
In action, this enables a dance with pilots activating, monitoring, and rewriting code on the fly, a constant algorithmic conversation, as beautiful and efficient as it is deadly.
In downtime, this means long hours in the hangar lounge, writing plans to ensure you're ready for the next battle, whenever it may be.

ooh wow this made me think of the stories we think about to overlay the things we do when working. it's funny cause in my presenter job i always think about/ pretend I'm giving a bunch of candies to kids and now I wonder if I can write a game about the kids i interact w (in this liminal space) and if i could pretend stuff happens to them in between sections of presentation
glad you like it!! mechanics wise I was def super inspired by weird ritual larps like [ooooo] also from the jam, and some of Takuma's short games like this one. It's a cool space to play in! hope you enjoy the game!
